I am excited by Mishka Shubaly's writing challenge, and will continue to share excerpts from my "uninterrupted hour" with you. Get ready for a post per day. Out of a 700 word character exploration for a story I'm writing, I give you this:

TODAY'S ENTRY:

 

I've had a Masters Degree in self loathing for as long as I can remember. I hung it from my neck in a weighted locket, as a badge of relevance. I only recently packed it away. I wrapped it up in old newspaper and toss it into a cardboard box labeled "memories." I find that "joy" is a certificate of accomplishment that is much more relevant to my life.
